New Zealand women's squash No1 Joelle King has given world No
2 Jenny Duncalf from England a battle, but fell short in the
second round of the World Open in Rotterdam.
King, who was the 10th seed, lost the first set 11-8, however
she came back to secure the second 11-7 before dropping the
third 11-1 and the fourth 11-3 in a match which lasted 52
minutes.
King, 23, will now attend the WISPA official dinner on
Saturday at the World Open where she has been nominated as
Most Improved Player of the Year. Other players in this
category include Annie Au (Hong Kong), Kasey Brown
(Australia), Raneem El Weleily (Egypt) and Dipika Pallikal
(India).
