New Zealand's Marina Erakovic might not have won a singles
match all year but this afternoon she will chase her sixth
WTA Tour doubles title at the Hobart International.
The Kiwi No 1 has been bundled out of her first two
tournaments of the year in the first round but moved through
to the final in Hobart with partner Chia-Jung Chuang (Chinese
Taipei) with a 3-6 6-1 10-4 defeat of Kateryna Bondarenko
from the Ukraine and Australia's Anastasia Bondarenko.
Erakovic and Chuang, the third seeds at the tournament, will
face the fourth-seeded Romanian pairing of Monica Niculescu
and Irina-Camelia Begu in today's final.
She opens her Australian Open singles campaign this week
against an as-yet unknown qualifier.
