An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale rocked
Fiordland, Southland and Otago late this afternoon.
The 5.38pm quake, centred off the coast of Fiordland,170km
west of Invercargill, at a depth of 12km, would have been
felt in Fiordland, Southland and Otago, the GeoNet website
reported.
No damage was expected.
