More than $1200 has been raised for the Palmerston museum
from two events.
Museum committee chairman Chris Cox said the money would go
towards the purchase of a new museum building in Sanday St.
On Friday, 35 people listened to Lyric Jam, which featured
folk guitarist Neil Copeland, of Dunedin, and poets Nick
Guyan, of Karitane, and Greg O'Connell, of Greymouth.
Last month, 85 people attended Herbert woman Marise Martin's
production A Victorian Domestic Goddess Takes a Husband.
A Christmas debate is planned for December 11.
Waitaki District Mayor Alex Familton, Cr Jim Hopkins and
Waitaki MP Waitaki Jacqui Dean will debate Palmerston
bookseller Jim Moffat, businesswoman Maria Hinkley and
journalist Dena Henderson.
