A large crowd of buyers from as far apart as Blenheim and Te
Anau competed with local buyers at the annual Omarama adult
merino ewe sale this week.
There were 12,000 merino ewes offered, all in top order.
Buyers competed strongly throughout the sale and prices were
well above last year's sale.
The top price went to Waitangi Station with an outstanding
pen of 1034 6-year ewes at $140, sold to a local station.

ewes, $89 and 6-year ewes, $86; Bog Roy Station, 2, 3 and
4-shear ewes, $80 and 5-year ewes, $81; Table Top Station, 2
and 3-shear ewes, $81 and $82; Rostriever Run, 6-year ewes,
$81; Ben Omar Station, 6-year ewes, $92; Buscot Station,
6-year ewes, $92; Aviemore Station, 6-year ewes, $77; Buscot
Station, annual draft ewes, $71; Twinburn Station, annual
draft ewes, $72; Clifton Downs Station, annual draft ewes,
$72; Dunstan Peaks Station, annual draft ewes, $67.
