Members of the public had an opportunity to explore
Oamaru's Opera House and learn about different clubs and
organisations during the annual Club Day on Saturday.
About 50 clubs took part in the free community event,
promoting everything from Heritage Radio to the Oamaru
Operatic Society's production of Les Miserables.
The stalls were spread throughout the building.
Noeline Wilson, who was recently made a life member of North
Otago Spinners and Weavers, demonstrated the art of making
felt flowers during the Club Day.
Hazel Gibbs, from Totara, demonstrated spinning wool on the
North Otago Spinners and Weavers display.
She joined the club four years ago after emigrating from
England.
It was a good way to "get out of the house", she said.
