Proceeds from this year's national cheese-rolling event near
Waikaka have been put towards producing a DVD for families
dealing with autism.
Autism charities have benefited in the past from the event
run on the Henderson family farm in Southland.
The 2009 event helped pay for producing and distributing 120
copies of the newly released Autism at Schools to
schools in Otago and Southland.
It is the second DVD created with money raised from the
cheese-rolling event after Living with Autism was
produced with funds from the first event in 2006.
The latest DVD features New Zealand teachers showing how they
are creating learning environments where children with autism
can thrive.
Proceeds also included cash donations of $1000 each to three
autism support groups in Otago and Southland.
