Senior Constable Mike Colligan
Police say a 23-year-old Queenstown man was lucky to walk
away from a crash early yesterday in which his car left the
road, crashed through two fences, down a 50m bank and ended up
350m off the road.
Senior Constable Mike Colligan, of Alexandra, said the man
managed to walk back up to the road where he was found by an
Otago Daily Times delivery truck driver, who alerted
police.
The man "said he thought he might have fallen asleep" about
3.30am but was wearing a seat belt, preventing more serious
injury.
