Candidates speak

Voters will get another chance to see Central Otago's two mayoral candidates in action on the campaign trail today .

Incumbent Tony Lepper, who is seeking a second term as mayor, and his challenger Lynley Claridge, a former Central Otago district councillor, will speak at a Grey Power Central Otago meeting at St Aidans Church Hall, Alexandra, starting at 2pm today.

The meeting is open to the public and Grey Power secretary Jackie Goyen urged voters to come along and ask questions of the mayoral contenders.

The Otago Daily Times and Otago Chamber of Commerce are joining forces to host another Central Otago mayoral forum next week, on Wednesday, October 2, in Cromwell at noon and in Alexandra at 5.30pm.
