Police are thanking members of a local family who may have
helped bring a 16-year-old youth to justice for a spate of
tagging in the town.
Constable Dave Greaves, of Alexandra, said the 16-year-old
would be referred to youth aid, after allegedly
spray-painting more than 20 structures within the town
between March 12 and 15.
Const Greaves said the youth had recently moved to Alexandra,
and when members of his family became aware of the tagging
they contacted police.
"Because Alexandra does not have a graffiti problem, the
offender was identified early," Const Greaves said.
