A former Balclutha woman has been fined more than $1000 after
buying and supplying alcohol to three minors last year.
Sergeant Craig Dinnissen, of Balclutha, said the 41-year-old
bought three bottles of cider for three teenagers, then aged
14, 15 and 16. The woman had since moved to Christchurch, and
appeared in the Christchurch District Court last month on
three charges of purchasing and supplying alcohol to minors
on July 23 last year. The woman pleaded guilty to all three
charges, and was fined a total of $1050 - $350 for each
charge. Sgt Dinnissen said it was the woman's first offence
of this kind.
''Be very wary of who you are purchasing alcohol for. If
police know you are supplying alcohol to minors, we will
investigate.''
