A Balclutha woman experienced a frightening end to 2009 when
her car collided with a cow on Kaka Point Rd at 11.20pm on
New Year's Eve.
The woman was driving to Kaka Point when two cows wandered on
to the road and her car collided with one of the animals.
The woman was not injured, and was released after being
examined at the scene by the attending ambulance staff.
The impact caused extensive damage to the car and killed the
cow, which was thrown into the long grass on the side of the
road.
Balclutha police detective Sergeant Kate Bartlett said the
farmer would be spoken to in relation to stock control.
