There is a treasure trove of jewellery and money sitting in
the Balclutha police lost and found which police are sure
someone must be missing.
Community Constable Tom Taylor said some of the items had
been in the lost and found for years, and included a polished
glass pendant, a silver bangle, a gold band, a lady's ring
with an inset stone, and a man's signet ring.
Const Taylor said some of the items handed in recently must
hold sentimental value for the people who had lost them.
A silver bracelet found in a hotel during the Christmas
period was clearly a birthday present from the girl's father,
while Const Taylor said a silver tin handed to police in
September last year was an antique, and probably belonged to
somebody's grandmother.
Policewould also like to hear from anyone who had lost money
recently.
Const Taylor said some notes of large denomination were found
on Clyde St and handed to police.
