More than 50 years of amateur photography resulted in a win
for Dunedin man Keith McMillan (74).
Mr McMillan has been named the overall winner in the Dunedin
Chinese Garden photo competition for his scene of the garden
titled Contemplate.
Mr McMillan said he did not normally enter photographic
competitions, but often visited the garden to take photos
because it changed from day to day, depending on the light.
He took the image on a 4 megapixel, Olympus digital SLR
camera.
Garden manager Margo Winchester said the image was one of 56
entries, judged by photographers Mike Thorsen, Wynston Cooper
and William Cockerill, from the project management company
that built the garden.
The competition was so popular it would become an annual
fixture, she said.
