Few people can still fit into their school blazer 58 years later, but Mosgiel's Brian Robertson is an exception.

Mr Robertson was one of about 35 men to attend Dunedin's former Christian Brothers High School 60th Reunion of the Classes of 1951 and 1952.

In honour of the occasion he dusted off his old school blazer, complete with athletics blue, and cap for the event.

"I had a bit of trouble with the buttons meeting," he joked of the blazer he wore when he was 15 years old - he now has 73 years under his belt, so to speak.

"I've refused to part with it as it was earned with great expense and energy," he said.

Also attending the reunion was the men's former teacher, Br Leo Larkin, who came from Brisbane for the event.

Organiser Kevin McLaughlan said it had been a "fantastic weekend" with dinners, lunches and a church service at St Patrick's Basilica, attended by about 35.

The classes first held a reunion in 1992 and have met every five years since.
