Remanded in custody

A Dunedin woman accused of Ritalin dealing has been remanded in custody for the preliminary hearing of an indictably-laid charge of supplying the drug.

The 51-year-old unemployed woman, whose name has been suppressed since her first court appearance, appeared before Judge David Saunders in the Dunedin District Court last week. She was arrested in June after a three-month police operation targeting the illegal sale of Ritalin and was charged with supplying Ritalin "to various persons" between June 1 last year and June 4, procuring Ritalin (four charges) and selling diazepam.

On all charges, she was remanded in custody to October 16 for the preliminary hearing of the indictably-laid charge and for hearing dates for the other charges, which she also denies.
