The Logan Park High School Jazz Band won a stack of awards at the South Island secondary school jazz competition in Blenheim on Sunday.

Principal Jane Johnson said the pupils had the most success of any school band before and "really scooped the lot".

The band, led by conductor Calder Prescott, won six awards overall, including the Peter Burgh Trophy for overall festival winner and the Port Marlborough trophy for best band.

Drummer Rory MacMurdo was judged best drummer of the festival.
