Gender pay disparities highlighted

Celebrating women's suffrage day and highlighting continuing pay disparity between women and men in Dunedin, on Saturday morning are (from front left) Council of Trade Unions Otago convener Glenda Alexander, Billie (2) and Hugh (5) Askerud, (second row:), Beryl Maultby, Labour Party member, Cee Payne, of the NZ Nurses Organisation, Ann Galloway, of the Service and Food Workers Union, (back row:) Heather Grimwood, Labour Party member, Lorraine Clark, Wilma Graham, Barry Simpson, of the Post Primary Teacher's Association and Rex Askerud of the Public Service Association.

The group held a morning tea outside the Dunedin Railway Station as part of Pay Equity Challenge Coalition protests.

Mrs Alexander's cake is missing 12%, mimicking the gap between women's and men's pay.
