Darren Burden, Dunedin Venues Management Ltd's
development director, who became a New Zealand citizen at a
ceremony in the Skeggs Gallery, Dunedin Municipal Chambers,
this week.
Mr Burden, who is from Petersfield, in Hampshire, England,
came to New Zealand five years ago, settling in Christchurch.
He moved to Dunedin in 2007, with his "Kiwi" wife Tania and
daughters Kaitlin (8) and Millie (6), because of his
involvement with the Forsyth Barr Stadium project.
Twenty people from eight countries became New Zealand
citizens at this week's ceremony.
They are: Paul Blezard, Mark Draper, John Reid, Susan
Chalmers, Peter Costello, Catherine Price, Katherine
Shillito, Dr Simon Stebbings (Britain); Hsin Huang (Taiwan);
Johan Peens, Jandre Niehaus, Fielden Smous (South Africa);
Spencer Grover (US); Sonya Hamel (Switzerland); Chole
Henderson (Korea); Yi Liu, Yilong Zhao (China); Willem and
Hendrika Velthuis (Netherlands).
