Otago Vintage Machinery Club member George Gamble feeds the
chaff cutter at Sunday's Go Otago day at the Taieri A and P
showgrounds.
Numbers were down at yesterday's Go Otago event, but an
organiser called it a success.
Director Victoria Bunton said a combination of weather, and
competing events, probably accounted for a sparser crowd.
Held at the Taieri A and P showgrounds every two years, the
event celebrates Otago Anniversary Day, displaying the
region's food, entertainment, art, craft, culture, music and
business.
Miss Bunton noted a good turnout by stall-holders and other
participants.
She was especially pleased with the new Bikes For Fun
activity, which encouraged children to try "weird and wacky"
bikes.
The weather remained fine, despite the dicey outlook, she
said.
The day's takings and event numbers were yet to be tallied,
Miss Bunton said.
