Road closures are operating at the 25 Mile Bridge on the Queenstown-Glenorchy Rd this week, and at Precipice Creek Bridge on the Glenorchy-Paradise Rd during the next fortnight, for bridge repairs and upgrades.
The Queenstown Lakes District Council announced this week work on the 25 Mile Bridge began on Wednesday, and the bridge is open for five minutes every hour and half-hour, from 8am to 5pm.
The work will be completed tomorrow.
Work on the Precipice Creek Bridge will start on Monday, and finish on Friday, April 27.
The bridge will also be open for five minutes every hour and half-hour from 8am to 5pm.
Council network operations engineer Michael Wardill said road users would need to put thought into timing their journeys to avoid delays, but the result would be safer roads.
