The Gore District Council will hold the first of four
hearings to consider submissions on proposed changes to its
district plan next week.
The council-appointed hearing panel of councillors Bret
Highsted, Cliff Bolger, Nicky Davis and Marty Redhead will
convene on Friday, to consider submissions on issues
including building height in the industrial zone, signs and
hazardous substances.
Council consultant planner Keith Hovell said the council was
proposing 14 plan changes, the majority in response to issues
and situations raised by the public.
The proposed changes attracting the most interest related to
flooding, additions to the heritage building register, the
introduction of townscape provision for Gore's commercial
area and the liberalisation of sub-division rules.
