A bid to install training lights at Lake Hawea's netball and
tennis courts has been backed by the Wanaka Community Board,
but the final decision remains in the hands of Queenstown
Lake councillors.
A funding budget of $25,000 to install four 8m high 1kW
lights at Peter Frazer Park courts was approved by board
members and included in the council's draft annual plan for
2009-10.
Councillors will consider the community board's approval
recommendation at a meeting in Wanaka at the end of June.
