Stadium trust heads to Invercargill

The Carisbrook Stadium Trust is heading to Invercargill on Monday in its quest to provide information on the project, and sell its seating packages.

The trip follows similar events in Otago regional centres in November, and would not be the last, trust commercial manager Guy Hedderwick said yesterday.

A trip to Cromwell had been promised, and others to rural areas were expected.

At the end of November, the trust had expressions of interest for $44.7 million of the private-sector funding it is attempting to raise through selling the products, but only $6.3 million in signed contracts.

Mr Hedderwick said more had been sold since, and promised a full update early next week.

He said there had been movement in sponsorship deals, and an announcement on those was expected late this month or early next year.

The Invercargill event would be held at the Ascot Park Hotel on Monday evening.
