The future of the Invercargill City Council chief executive
is expected to be known today after councillors held a
meeting in committee last night.
Richard King (57), chief executive since July 1986, was last
month involved in a car crash in Invercargill, after which he
recorded a breath-alcohol level of 584mcg.
Invercargill Mayor Tim Shadbolt said a decision was made at
last night's meeting, but no announcement would be made until
lawyers had been consulted.
