Invercargill police are seeking witnesses to an attack on a
youth in the city on Friday.
Senior Sergeant Maggie Windle said a 17-year-old was riding
his bike on Elles Rd when two men got out of a dark green
sedan at the intersection with Ettrick St.
They threw the victim from his bike and kicked and punched
him before one produced a knife and chased him.
The same man returned to the bike and slashed a tyre and
damaged the chain, she said.
One of the men was described as a slim Caucasian in his early
20s, wearing a lip ring, black hoodie and orange boots.
The other, also in his early 20s, had light coloured hair and
was wearing a blue hoodie.
A female was seen to be driving the vehicle.
Snr Sgt Windle requested anyone with information regarding
the assault to contact police.
