'Flyer' still in limbo

A meeting in Dunedin yesterday between Land Transport New Zealand and parties involved with the Kingston Flyer has resulted in the train's future being left in limbo for a little longer.

LTNZ rail representatives came from Wellington to discuss "procedural details" of how to get the historic steam train licensed, Kingston Flyer veteran manager Russell Glendinning said.

There was "nothing to report" and no further action would be taken for a while, Mr Glendinning said.

He said information had been given to the participating parties and they had "gone away to look over the detail", adding positive aspects had come from the meeting.
