The New Zealand Stroke Foundation received $5500 from the
Kingston Flyer recently, after the hugely successful
inaugural Kingston Flyer Weekend.
A $5 donation from each train ticket sold to ride New
Zealand's famous vintage steam train at the weekend, held
March 31 and April 1, went to the foundation, along with
money raised through a sausage sizzle, bouncy castle, raffles
and other donations.
Kingston Flyer managing director David Bryce said he was
"delighted" to have been able to raise such a substantial
amount of money. The funds raised will go towards the
continuation of free field officer services in the South.
