The Arrowtown and Lake Hayes water supply areas were amended
by the Queenstown Lakes District Council's infrastructure
services committee at a meeting in Wanaka last week.
The Arrowtown water supply extension applies to six
properties on Centennial Ave connected during the 1980s which
were already being rated, but their inclusion had not been
recorded for engineering purposes. It also applies to
properties in the Millbrook sub-zone, which are also
connected and are being rated.
Meanwhile, the Lake Hayes water supply area will no longer
serve properties that are being supplied by the private Don
Andrews scheme. But is has been extended to two properties on
Speargrass Flat which already have connections.
Two properties have also been added to the private
unrestricted Slopehill sub-zone, which takes water from the
Lake Hayes water supply. Some properties within the extended
zone will have restrictions of 2.1cu m of water per day.
