The outgoing Tokomairiro Agricultural and Pastoral Show
president Dean McCrostie called Saturday's show "an
absolutely awesome day".
Mr McCrostie thanked the show committee and all who helped
behind the scenes.
Show secretary Bronwyn Woodhead said there was a good crowd,
good stock entries and quality trade and craft stalls.
One highlight was mini-digger driving, co-ordinated by Melvin
Johnstone and Murray Lloyd.
For others, there was a competition to extract a tennis ball
from a bucket and place it on top of a road cone.
"The Magic Guy", Wayne McEwan, of Invercargill, provided a
show in itself.
Milton Playcentre ran a cute-baby competition. Playcentre
spokeswoman Shayne Dale said Annabelle Cameron won the 0-2
years, and Daiha Lowlor the 2-5 years category.
The terrier race, after the grand parade, was
enthusiastically run with about 12 dogs chasing a rabbit
carcass towed behind a quad-bike.
