A new swimming pool, accessible car parking and self
promotion were identified this week as some of the future
needs and priorities of the Taieri area.
The Mosgiel Taieri Community Board adopted its 2010-11
community plan after a previous two-hour meeting.
The six key directions to be identified were: infrastructure,
community facilities, trans-port, growth, prosperity and
vibrance, and governance.
Specific projects included improving water and drainage
services for Mosgiel and sewerage and drainage services and
water delivery for Outram; building a new swimming pool or
aquatic centre; building a complex to encourage sporting and
recreational groups to share facilities; and the promotion of
Mosgiel as the economic hub of the Taieri and a safe and
healthy community by expanding its profile and improving
awareness.
The board also wants to speed up the implementation of the
arterial road network for Mosgiel and the Taieri Plain.
