A 24-year-old French woman was taken to Dunedin Hospital
with neck injuries after a head-on crash near Owaka on Sunday
afternoon.
Constable Logan Dickie, of Balclutha, said emergency services
were called to a head-on crash on Purakaunui Falls Rd, about
10km south of Owaka, about 2.45pm.
He said a Nissan Sunny rental car, driven by 22-year-old
French woman was in collision with a Nissan Navara.
The woman received minor injuries and her 24-year-old female
passenger was taken to Dunedin Hospital with neck injuries.
The 32-year-old man driving the Nissan Navara and his three
passengers also received minor injuries.
Const Dickie said charges were pending, as the woman driving
the rental car was believed to be on the wrong side of the
road before and at the time of the crash.
Members of the Owaka and Kaka Point volunteer fire brigades
attended.
