5.30pm: A classical music recital by University of Auckland graduates and national concerto competition winners Amalia Hall, on violin, and John-Paul Muir, on piano, is hosted by The Hills Clubhouse. 10pm: Auckland duo Tokyo Prose and guest DJ Rhyas, deliver smooth drum 'n' bass and funk, at Subculture. With support from Syrus, of Dunedin, and Queenstown's D-Jade. Earlybird door sales $5.

8.30pm: A fake psychic, her con-artist boyfriend, a missing heir and a pair of kidnappers star in Family Plot (1976). Master of Suspense Alfred Hitchcock's final film is presented to Queenstown Film Society members at Dorothy Brown's Cinema and Bar, Arrowtown. People can join on the night.

Thursday, August 5

9pm: Dubwize and Reality Chant featuring Raz Bin Sam and Hua promote reggae dancehall album Kings Highway, at Dux de Lux. Free entry.

10pm: Australia-based punk rockers Not OK plus Auckland punk rockers Fifth Threat both debut at Revolver. Free entry.
