The Rees Hotel and Luxury Apartments in Queenstown is among
the final nominees in the New Zealand hotel category for the
HM Hotel and Accommodation Excellence awards.
With over 1600 entries across 48 categories this year, the
Rees was selected as a finalist by a judging panel of over 50
clients, travel writers and industry experts for the industry
awards - sponsored by HM (hotel and accommodation
management) magazine.
The publication is distributed to all major three- to
five-star properties across the Australasia-South Pacific
region and the awards cover the same region.
"This nomination from our peers, guests and industry figures
is an honour and speaks volumes about the essence of our
strategy, which is to deliver a world-class, excellent,
hospitality experience with the utmost professionalism at
every opportunity," general manager Mark Rose said.
Other Queenstown nominees include the Hilton Queenstown,
Hotel St Moritz Queenstown and Sofitel Queenstown Hotel and
Spa.
Winners will be announced in early September at a gala
presentation dinner at Doltone House, Sydney, Australia,
along with those to be inducted into the hall of fame.
Achieving the nomination comes on the back of an
International Hotel Club award for the Rees' "chic" interior
and bespoke furnishings, by Arrowtown designer Ed Cruikshank,
and for "pioneering" the Flavours of New Zealand event at
James Beard House, New York.
