There is still "no time frame" on when the final reports on
the hydroslide at Alpine Aqualand will be ready for the
Queenstown Lakes District Council and the public.
Queenstown Aquatic Centre project manager Ken Gousmett last
week told the Queenstown Times the reports would be presented
to the council, which would then decide when to release the
information to the public.
"Aside from that, I am not prepared to make any other
comment," Mr Gousmett said.
The fast hydroslide was closed last December, after it was
reported 69 injuries related to the slide had occurred.
It was closed again in June when a woman using the hydroslide
hit her head, despite having followed the safety advice
offered by staff and signs.
Lakes Leisure, which runs the aquatic centre, agreed to close
the slide at that time, on the advice of the Department of
Labour, and the QLDC commissioned an independent review.
