A Wanaka man faced two new charges in the Invercargill
District Court yesterday, in relation to several arson
convictions in February.
Jan Hermanus Campher (33) was sentenced to four years' jail
in March, after being found guilty of four charges of
intentionally damaging telecommunication cabinets by setting
fire to them in Wanaka on June 11 and 12.
Campher appeared before the court yesterday, entering no
pleas on charges of attempting to procure someone to commit
an act of arson and attempting to pervert the course of
justice. He was remanded to appear again on August 13.
