The club has been nominated for the award of best club in the country.
The prizewinner will be announced at the national final of the ANZ Young Farmer contest to be held in Christchurch between July 3 and 5.
The club has also been helping out the Mid Canterbury community.
Chairman Andrew Harcourt recently donated $500 to St John in Ashburton on behalf of the club.
It was just one of three donations the club made from profits raised at the annual after-harvest party. Donations of $500 each were also made to the Westpac Helicopter Trust and to the local firefighters who were competing in the Sky Tower stair challenge for Leukemia and Blood Cancer New Zealand.
The party, usually held in April, has been held for four years. The Pendarves Fire Brigade also benefits from it, with members running the bar, and profits from sales going to the brigade.
Pendarves Young Farmers is the strongest club in Mid Canterbury, with 55 members. The Aorangi region, which includes Mid Canterbury clubs, is also the strongest in the country.
Mr Harcourt said the club was a great place for young people working in agriculture to meet others. It included a mix of social events as well as skill-based competitions.
The club meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 8pm at the Railway Tavern in Rakaia.
