Queenstown police are still appealing for any information regarding illegal drug activity in the resort.

Last Monday there was a major methamphetamine bust in Queenstown - more than $200,000 of meth and more than $30,000 in cash was recovered.

A 36-year-old man is in custody facing a charge of possession of methamphetamine for supply, and a 33-year-old man arrested following a search warrant executed in Cromwell was also facing drugs charges.

Earlier another person was arrested in Alexandra, where meth was also found.

Also on June 10 eight other people were arrested in Oamaru and Dunedin after search warrants were executed and police located cannabis, more methamphetamine, MDMA, ammunition and just over $10,000 cash.

Sergeant Blair Duffy, of Queenstown, said police were seeing an ''increase in drug activity in the area and we want to do what we can to prevent the harm being caused by that''.

"The guys are doing more search warrants, so we are making more [arrests].

"There is increased gang activity in Queenstown, that goes hand-in-hand with drug dealing.

"I think it's just a growth thing, really ... but that doesn't, obviously, mean we have to accept it.''
