Tourism Industry Aotearoa this morning announced Dunedin as the next host city for Trenz, the first time the event has been held here.
The event will bring up to 1200 international travel and tourism buyers, media and New Zealand tourism operators to Dunedin over four days.
The buyers meet local tourism operators to do business.
TIA chief executive Chris Roberts said on the final day of the 2017 event in Auckland it would be one of the largest events for the city in the last decade.
Dunedin attracted the event in partnership with Southland and Waitaki, making the lower South the host region.
Mr Cull said as well as the direct economic benefit of hosting such a large event, it was ''a fantastic opportunity to showcase our world class tourism offerings to key global travel, trade and media influencers and allow them to experience all of it first-hand''.
