Highlight this week: Last chance to see... The exhibition "Russian Art in New Zealand", at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery, explores the rich holdings of Russian art in New Zealand private and public collections. It closes on Sunday.

Think Tart: The University of Otago English department annual Dalziel Lecture will be held at 5.10pm in Archway 3. Prof Lydia Wevers, will speak on "Jam Tarts for the Mind," an exploration of the webs of intersection between 19th-century New Zealand rural readers and popular fiction 100 years ago. All are welcome.

Rising voices: Friends of the Opera present young local singers Kerah Bruce, Mitchell Fulton, Ben Kydd, Tamara Mayo, Kathryn Redpath, Toni Shanks and Alexander Wilson at St Peter's Church Hall, Hillside Rd, Dunedin. Sunday, 2pm.
