This week's highlights:

Dame Malvina returns:
Dame Malvina Major returns to Dunedin for a special concert this weekend. "Dame Malvina and Friends" features Claire Barton, Emma Fraser and Tim Blackler performing opera and easy-listening songs. "Dame Malvina and Friends" starts at 3pm on Sunday at Ross Home. Tickets are $30, which includes a champagne afternoon tea with Dame Malvina.

Out and about: On Saturday at 2pm, there will be a Victorian Cemetery Tour of the Northern Cemetery. Guides from the Historic Cemeteries Trust of NZ will relate the stories of those at rest in the cemetery. Meet at the Lovelock Ave entrance. Proceeds will be used for cemetery conservation.

Wild animal night: A wild-animal-themed dance party is on at Sammy's this weekend. The Wonky Wildlife Park Party will feature fire performances by Highly Flammable. Also appearing will be Sonic Smith, Hazsari, Mikki, Night Owl, Disco Lizard, Krank, DJ Voodoo Gangster, Raw Wenches and Chur Burgers.
