CD reviews: Alanis Morissette

Twenty years on, and hell still hath no fury like a Canadian pop moppet scorned.

With 1995's Grammy-gobbling Jagged Little Pill, Alanis Morissette took riot grrrl attitude into the mainstream.

Parental pressure, Catholic guilt, and useless boyfriends all felt the wrath of her barbed tongue, as the deft yet muscular guitar flourishes of alt-rock royalty Flea and Dave Navarro lent ballast to the bunny-boiling urges.

This lavish 23-track double-disc reissue, featuring 10 previously unreleased demos, serves as a timely reminder of one of modern rock's more singular voices.
