CD Reviews: Pond

There must be something infiltrating the water in Western Australia.

Far from the sun and beach life, Pond (which shares members with Tame Impala) is a complete throwback to '70s psychedelia.

Swirling keys, beeps, bops and pulsating rhythms abound as the retro Aussies craft soundscapes that owe as much to traditional song structure as Jackson Pollock does to photorealism.

More ethereal than 2013's Hobo Rocket, Man It Feels Like Space Again takes a wee while to sink in, but buried among the morass of sounds are some real neat hooks.

Pond. Man It Feels Like Space Again
