CD Reviews: Prince

Any fears that ''His Purpleness'' had lost touch with his prodigiously charismatic younger self are dispelled with Prince's most tightly-focused album in years, one of two released simultaneously.

For the record, there is a loose storyline around awakening from 45 years in suspended animation, but put that aside and simply enjoy a mix of sharp and funky dance tracks, steamy slow jams and molten gold love ballads that prove him to be in fine voice.

Prince is bringing sexy back, and along with it a synth-driven sound that bears more than a passing resemblance to his earliest albums.
