Enliven offers homely environments across Otago and Southland, with thirteen established settings based in Invercargill, Gore, Dunedin, Mosgiel, Oamaru, Balclutha, Alexandra, Wanaka, and Queenstown. There are a range of services including SupportLink, Club Enliven, independent retirement living, rest home, hospital and dementia care.
Quality of life co-ordinator Shannon McLeod says she loves the Enliven philosophy. “It is so people-centred. I’ve always believed people should be empowered to do what they want with their lives, and that fits with the values of Enliven.’’
A PROUD, LOCAL, NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANISATION
Presbyterian Support has been supporting people in Southland for close to 100 years, and Otago for over 110 years, with the highest quality care - we are locally owned and operated. Presbyterian Support is a not-for-profit organisation - any profit generated goes back into the community.
Our loyal staff love their work. Annette Allen has worked in Southland for 30 years and says: “When I walk in the door at Peacehaven it just feels like home. I love the elderly, I really do, and we have a lot of fun. I’d like to think I make a difference in their lives.’’
People trust Presbyterian Support (Enliven). The brand was voted New Zealand’s Most Trusted Aged Care and Retirement Village Brand in the Reader’s Digest Most Trusted Brand Survey this year.
MUSIC ENRICHMENT PROGRAMME
Unique to Enliven in Southland is a music enrichment programme. Music therapist Jamie Macdonald says: “Some people like to sing, others like to dance, others will just listen and enjoy music in a group environment - it’s about using music to connect.’’
