Inspired by the past, Andrea and David have sensitively restored the buildings, which include an elegant homestead, old store, coach sheds, stables and barns. Landscaping highlights the original central courtyard and gardens.
Olivers offers two distinctive styles of accommodation and is the ideal stopover for cyclists on the Otago Central Rail Trail. Rooms are categorised deluxe standard, deluxe superior or premier. The five stables rooms, which overlook a landscaped courtyard, have a rustic ambience reminiscent of Central Otago pioneering days. Schist walls, stone floors, rough-sawn timber beams and stable doors enhance the 1860s theme, while the six lodge rooms showcase elegant contemporary interiors.
Whether you're staying at Olivers or just stopping by on your way through, the newly restored restaurant offers an elegant dining experience, while the recently opened cafe-bakery-delicatessen, the Merchant of Clyde, is a great place to stop for lunch. Craft beer enthusiasts will enjoy The Victoria Store Brewery's range of artisan beers brewed on site, particularly on a hot Central Otago afternoon. The Merchant Room at Olivers is the perfect venue for a range of celebrations, such as small weddings, private family birthdays, anniversary dinner parties, cocktail evenings or festive celebrations.
A marquee can extend the Merchant Room space to allow for a greater number of guests and/or a dance area. The space then opens out onto the orchard garden, creating a magical indoor-outdoor flow.
Olivers offers a full event-management service and is experienced in hosting special occasions tailored to your needs. For superb sophisticated cuisine in one of Central Otago's most iconic locations, the Olivers venue is second to none.
