The Cancer Society is heading into Fiordland – or rather, it’s heading out for a spectacular night on Milford Sound and it needs your help.
This year Real Journeys has donated their Milford Sound overnight Cruise-for-a-Cause to the Otago Southland Cancer Society, and they’re keen to fill every berth on the boat.
Otago Southland Cancer Society CEO Rachael Hart says, “We’re hugely grateful to Real Journeys for this opportunity. This is something we all want to do at least
once in our lifetime but if you do with us, this coming September 16/17th, you’ll know that every dollar goes to people with cancer, in need.”
That need? The number of people that the Cancer Society are working with has increased by 60 per cent in the last two years and that demand is increasing. The Cancer Society’s team of supportive care is struggling to ensure ‘no one goes through cancer alone’.
All proceeds from the cruise go to the Cancer Society’s Supportive Team – ‘the family/whanau you never knew you had’ – across the entire Otago Southland region.
Cruising out to heads on Milford Sound, kayaking, seeing stunning wildlife and the extraordinary sights of the fiord, the comforts of warm accommodation, sumptuous cuisine and even live entertainment – this will be a weekend to remember.
