While audio streaming remains popular, the return to traditional hi-fi continues unabated.

Alongside the renaissance of turntables, sales of twochannel amplifiers and floor-standing speakers are on the rise.

“We still do a bunch of streaming products, but there’s been a big trend away from the likes of the soundbars and stuff,’’ Strawberry Sound sales and design consultant Mark Watson says.

"People are going back towards just having traditional two-channel. And floor- standing speakers — bigboy speakers that actually sound good.’’

There is a great range of speakers on display at Strawberry Sound, including superb products from the French company Focal.

All manufactured in France, the Focal range spans from the bookshelf to powerful floor-standers, catering for all environments.

These speakers will unquestionably uncover new details in your favourite music.

Taking the “try before you buy” maxim to new levels, Strawberry Sound allows customers to experience products in their own home, to fully understand what they can deliver.

Vinyl record sales are still growing globally, with the physical format returning to early-1990s sales levels in 2017.

This has naturally meant that quality turntables are in demand.

Strawberry Sound stocks some of the most respected brands, including the extremely popular Pro-Ject from Austria, and the long-time favourite English Rega products.

Both make very high-quality turntables for the audiophile market, and include options affordable enough for the listener just starting out with vinyl.

“For people who want to listen to a bit of quality hi-fi, Pro-Ject and Rega are the top two we do,’’ Mark says.

“All of the Rega stuff is still made in England I think, and most of Pro-Ject is still made in Austria. They’re really good quality; not much more gets you quite a big step up.’’

At Strawberry Sound you will also find high-end headphones from Oppo, Audio Technica, and Focal, and external phono stages, in case your amplifier isn’t equipped with one.

However, after a period when many amps didn’t have a phono stage, manufacturers are again including that specification.

One of these is the new-release Yamaha RN803D, a two-channel receiver that covers both traditional and modern music-listening options.
