Father's Day - Spend time with Mother Nature this Father's Day

Father's Day is a great opportunity to spend some time with the ones you love and reconnect with nature at Orokonui Ecosanctuary.

Explore the many tarcks and trails that wind their way through the the beautiful coastal Otago cloud forest, listen to the birdsong, and discover some of Aotearoa's rarest species.

The sanctuary is home to the curious kaka, robin, takahe, fernbird, tuatara, rifleman, tomtit, and the secretive Haast tokoeka kiwi.

Visit the Otago Skink Enclosure and be surprised by sculptures along the trails, or take a big walk down Orokonui Valley to see Aotearoa's tallest tree.

Take a break at Horopito cafe - treat dad to lunch or coffee and cake after your walk, while enjoying one of Dunedin's most stunning views, over the valley to Blueskin Bay and the distant Silver Peaks.
There is also a nature-themed play area near the Visitor Centre to keep the children occupied. So be a little wild and visit Orokonui this Sunday.
