A Non-Stop November in Dunedin

Dunedin is looking forward to a non-stop November with an impressive line-up of happenings and star-studded concerts rolling out every week, creating the perfect excuse for a trip to the city and a few days spent soaking up the unique and fascinating vibe.

Leading the charge with unique Dunedin favour is the Dunedin Symphony Orchestra’s Tally Ho! 2 - Dunedin Sound Songs and Singers on November 4th at the Dunedin Town Hall. The DSO will be joined by an outstanding collection of local singers covering well-known Dunedin Sound anthems, in one triumphant concert.

That same weekend sees the Great Kiwi Home and Living Show return to the Forsyth Barr Stadium on November 4th and 5th for two days of inspirational ideas and workshops, covering everything from interior design to healthy eating.  Celebrity chef, television presenter and Paleo diet guru, Pete Evans provides further wow factor at this family friendly event.

Flying the flag high for the fantastic brews and food to be found across the country, the Dunedin Craft Beer and Food Festival on November 11th is a heaven of the hop-related variety. Sticking with the theme, find out why Dunedin is fast becoming a truly outstanding culinary mecca by exploring some of the many cafes, bars and restaurants tucked in between beautifully restored heritage buildings. Behind the scenes, chefs of international repute are quietly creating some truly sensational dining experiences that are easily on par with some of the worlds more renowned eateries.

The entertainment doesn’t end there; Kiwi songstress Lorde plays the Dunedin Town Hall on November 7th, followed by Stevie Nicks and the Pretenders at Forsyth Barr Stadium on November 24th, and rounding off the month is rising star and one-time Dunedin resident Aldous Harding, playing at the Glenroy Auditorium on November 27th.

Or, for a touch of fresh air and an encounter with the local wildlife, spend an afternoon at the Royal Albatross Colony watching these majestic birds soar above the Otago Harbour, then welcome the Little Blue Penguins as they return at dusk from a day of hunting the seas. Other ideas include:
